I've heard everything from wanting to quit smoking to losing weight. but after failing to keep up with big resolutions I've made previously, I'm doing things slightly differently this year. Rather than trying to make huge changes that aren't sustainable, I'm looking at what I can do to make me happier every day. Here are my resolutions for 2017:
It's the last day of 2016 and we're all getting ready to wake up in 2017 tomorrow morning - or tomorrow afternoon if you're planning on going big with your celebrations. As with any new year, everyone seems to be thinking about what resolutions they are going to make for the 12 months ahead.

I know a lot of people have been saying that 2016 has been one of the worst years for a number of reasons - shock voting results, celebrity deaths and terrorist atrocities that seem to be getting worse - it has brought some good things for me.
Although the deaths of David Bowie, Alan Rickman and now Carrie Fisher have really upset me and I started the year with fairly poor mental health, things have picked up. I worked hard to try and beat my depression and anxiety into submission once again and things got much better as spring started. The rest of the year has been fairly positive and I'm ending it on a much better note. In fact, this year has been a huge turning point and no matter how other people remember it, I'll always know that this was the year that changed a lot of things. This review has been a bit delayed thanks to the madness of last months and getting ready for Christmas, which has seemingly snuck up on me. However, I have now gotten around to trying all the products that came in last month's Love Lula beauty box and, once again, I am pretty impressed with a few of them.
In fact, I am currently feeling particularly relaxed after using one of products I got in my box, which I would buy right now if it wasn't a few days before Christmas. Read on to see which one it was and what I thought of all the other goodies I got sent. I absolutely love the ballet and have for years, probably ever since my grandad gave me a tape of the music from Swan Lake. Sadly, I have neither the coordination or size of a ballerina - I'm pretty sure trying a spin would result in two black eyes - so I have had to make do with watching performances.
I used to go to the ballet quite a lot when I lived in Devon and Cornwall, but when I moved to Leeds, I was too far away from mum to do so as often. However, I did manage to convince the husband to go and see The Nutcracker last year at Christmas and now he has agreed to at least go to the ballet with me every Christmas. As part of this, he booked us tickets to see Beauty and the Beast this year, which was performed by Northern Ballet. The tickets were pretty reasonable and we had a good view from the first row of the balcony, which is where I like to sit to get a good view without having to shell out £40+ per ticket. This is the last Motivational Monday of the year and I'm writing it from my parents house, with Christmas lights on, while watching a festive film and getting cuddles from two of the cutest puppy dogs. All I want to do is relax and enjoy the Christmas season, but sadly I still have work to do.
I seem too need more motivation today than I do when I'm working from home in Leeds or need to get up early to walk to the office. Luckily, there are only a few days left until I can fully let my hairr down and celebrate with my husband and family. Until you can unwind on Christmas Eve, here's a little boost to help you through the week: |
