Anyway, I may be tired beyond belief and still have a lot to fit into this month before it's over (how am I going to manage in two days?!), but I also cannot stop smiling right now. Here are ten reasons why:
Yes, I know that April is almost over, but I couldn't let it pass without doing a 10 things making me smile post. This month may have been absolutely crazy - following on from the theme of last month - but so much great stuff has happened too. In fact, it's been a pretty great start to the second quarter of the year and I definitely think more amazing stuff is yet to come, but that could just be the exhaustion making me lose grip on reality a little bit. Earlier this week after just under nine months of learning, I passed my driving test. Considering I never actually wanted to drive and waited until last year to even apply for a provisional licence, I am really proud of myself. The fact that I have generalised anxiety disorder and spent several months feeling fairly panicky about my lessons has also made me realise just how well I've done.
This wasn't my first attempt at the test as I gave it a try in December. I knew that I wasn't really ready for it then and if I'm honest about it, I knew I was going to fail. I was nervous, far too shaky, close to tears and just didn't feel ready at all. However, I also knew that I just needed to give it a go so I could see what it was all about and what I could expect, This made me get into the right head space to give it a go this month and to know that I was a good enough driver and prepared enough to pass. I can't quite get over the fact that there is another week of April to deal with! This month has been mad and far too busy for my liking, but after a weekend of barely stopping in between tasks, I'm almost at the stage where I can enjoy a slightly more relaxed May.
That being said, there is still a lot to do this week, including something fairly important happening today. After a weekend of gardening, unpacking, moving furniture and more washing loads than I can count, I'd love to just put my feet up today. Sadly, I don't have that luxury so I need to get myself ready to face the week. You know what this means. Yup, that's right, it's time for some Monday motivation. Earlier this month, my sister came to visit. We had a few days of exploring different places but she also helped us move so I figured she deserved a treat. She's just as big a fan of Japanese food as I am so it seemed I had the perfect excuse to finally pay a visit to SushiWaka.
A couple of my friends go to SushiWaka quite a bit and have said to me numerous times that I need to try it, but I've always ended up going somewhere else instead. I gave my sister a choice between Mexican, Japanese and Thai food, so when she picked the one I was sure she would I knew I didn't have an excuse to put off my visit any longer. You'll find SushiWaka just down the road from The Grand Theatre, so it's nice and central and easy to get to. It is definitely one of those places that you don't judge from the outside, as the building seems quite plain and nowhere near as fancy as some of the restaurants in the area. However, inside is clean, there's great little details on the table, you can see into the kitchen and - most importantly - the food is amazing. Motivational Monday is back! Ironically, it's back on a Monday that I don't need a lot of motivation on as it's a bank holiday and I don't intend to do an awful lot. In fact, I fully intend to stay in my PJs all day and just leisurely unpack a box or two.
However, I do still have a lot to do to get our house ready for our housewarming party next month and for decorating, so the rest of the week and the rest of April is likely to be a bit mad. On top of that, I have to get back into the habit of writing regular blogs - which means finding the charging cable for my camera so I can actually post some photos too. All in all, things are still rather mad so I don't feel at all guilty about having one day of of laziness and you shouldn't either if that is your plan for today or any day this week. If you do want some motivation though, I've got you covered. |
