However, I'm not one for wasting products and it happened to arrive just as my usual antiperspirant was running really low, so I figured I'd give natural another go. I've now re-bought this deodorant because I found it so great and, for the first time, have experienced a lot more plus sides to this particular type of cosmetic than I have previously.
I've tried natural deodorants before and haven't had much luck with them so have always returned to antiperspirant, even though I know it isn't the best thing for my skin. This meant I was a little bit reluctant to try the one from Elsa's Organic Skin Foods that I got in one of my monthly LoveLula subscription boxes.

I don't think it's any secret that I love Pixi Beauty. I have used Glow Tonic as a toner for years and have never found anything to match it, the Glow Mud Cleanser has been my go-to facial cleanser since I got it in a gift two Christmases ago and the Rose Oil Blend is one of my favourite products for evening moisturisation. In short, any new products I try from Pixi have a lot to live up to.
However, I will always give any other products a try and have several on my wish list just begging to be bought. I managed to get Peel & Polish just before Christmas as part of a reduced gift set, which is one of the products I've wanted to try for a while. Although the combination of Glow Mud Cleanser and my Balm Balm Organic Muslin Face Cloths mean I don't have to exfoliate very often, I still need something to give my face a gentle scrub on occasion. What intrigued me about Peel & polish is the fact it isn't a standard face scrub. It is described as being a "resurfacing concentrate" and is actually an enzyme peel. Essentially, it's a treatment you'd usually shell out for at a salon but you can use it in your own bathroom, with a tube costing £26, which is less than you can expect to pay for a decent facial. Trying to find the perfect daytime facial moisturiser has become the biggest challenge of my skincare routine. I previously found one that I loved, but I just couldn't justify the £50 price tag, especially as I am always testing out new products. However, I really got on with Laidbare's Pack Your Bags Eye Cream previously so I started looking at what else the brand has on offer.
I ended up eyeing this moisturiser for a while but needed the one I was using to run out before I made purchase. Luckily, just before I got desperate for a day cream, what should happen to get delivered in my Love Lula beauty box? Sometimes I think they read my mind with the box's contents, so needless to say, I was a very happy camper; even more so because this moisturiser has not disappointed. Working 9 To 5 has now become my go to day cream and I will happily buy it again, especially as a 50ml tube is only £7.99, which is incredibly reasonable considering how amazing it feels on my skin. My skin has been struggling recently. Since losing weight and taking certain medications, my hormones have gone completely haywire, which, in turn, affects the look and feel of my skin. I've found that it is a lot oilier than usual at the moment and is a lot more prone to spots, blackheads and enlarged pores, all of which isn't great.
I used to have really bad skin when I was younger so I have always worked hard to look after it and stop breakouts. Unfortunately, none of my usual tricks have been working so I went back to an old standby and am so glad I did because Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask from Lush is seriously saving my skin right now. I've mentioned this face mask in a previous blog I did, but it is so good it definitely deserves a full review - especially as it has transformed my face over the last week or so. It was actually the first Lush face mask I ever used and has been the one I've always come back to, so now I only ever swap my five black pots for this mask. I feel like I have reviewed so many body scrubs since starting this blog, but I have struggled to find one that delivers all the results I want and that I'd be happy to keep buying. I've made my own, tried sugar, salt and coffee varieties and have had some good and a lot of bad results. However, I think I may have found the body scrub that solves all my skin woes.
I'm a big fan of Heyland & Whittle products and have used their soaps, candles and reed diffusers for years, so I was really excited when they bought out a luxury body scrub. I was even more excited when they gave me one to try, especially as I know how fantastic all their other products are. |
