In fact, I am currently feeling particularly relaxed after using one of products I got in my box, which I would buy right now if it wasn't a few days before Christmas. Read on to see which one it was and what I thought of all the other goodies I got sent.
PHB Ethical Beauty Skin Restore Gel with Aloe Vera
It is a really cooling gel and a little goes a long way, even though it sinks into the skin easily. There isn't much of a fragrance to it so it's ideal for sensitive skin. The day after he applied it, the area of skin that was red from eczema had calmed down and the skin had stopped flaking. Less than a week later, after using it every day, his skin had totally calmed down.
He hasn't needed to use it since and I still have loads left, so we'll definitely be keeping it in the medicine cabinet for a later date. It is also meant to help with burns and cuts, which I get a lot due to my dyspraxia - this is basically a medical name for my lack of balance, coordination and extreme clumsiness - so it will come in handy then too.
This is the second product I've had from this brand and I have to admit that I'm impressed and am looking forward to getting to try a few more.
Madara SOS Hydra Moisture & Radiance Mask
What was interesting about this product is that you cann either use it as a face mask and wash it off after a while or you can leave it on as an intensive moisturiser. I have only used it as a mask as I was worried that it might not agree with my skin if I left ot on over night because it is quite thick.
It feels really smooth when you're applying it and you only need a thin layer, which seems to melt into your skin. It doesn't dry like other masks, so you don't feel like it is sucking moisture from your skin, which is a big plus. When you do wash it off, it can be removed easily while also feeling like it is soaking into your skin more.
The end result each time I've used it is bright skin that feels smooth, hydrated and happy. The second time I used it was when my skin looked as tired as I felt and the mask really sorted it out. However, I use masks for deep cleansing and I feel like that is the only area where this fails, so I may stick with my go-to mask and serum combination in the future.
Ooh! - Oils of Heaven Organic Argan Moisture Retention Face Oil Travel Size
The only difference between this bottle and the one I have been using is that there is no pipette applicator, which is so much better for travel purposes. Even though I'm really careful when it comes to packing my beauty products - especially when they come in glass bottles like these facial oils - accidents do happen. When I was unpacking one of my bottles of oil after travelling, the whole of the top broke off and I lost half of the rather pricey product.
If you want to take an Ooh! Oils of Heaven product with you when travelling, definitely get a travel bottle. I've actually been carrying mine around in my handbag to test it - I feel like this was quite brave - and have now brought it to Devon with me in place of the other bottle I've been using. The bottle hasn't broken and is as sturdy as ever. In fact, the only downside is that it is a bit difficult to get the right amount of the oil out so I keep pouring too much, but this is a small price to pay for easy travel.
In terms of the oil itself, it is moisturising without being oily and leaves my skin feeling deeply nourished. I use it as night moisturiser and my skin always feels amazing in the mornings. If you want a natural moisturiser, definitely have a look at this brand.
Humble Natural Beauty Sweet Pea & Verbena Hand Cream
In terms of effectiveness, this hand cream does exactly what you want it to. It moisturises deeply so you only need to use it once a day, if that, and it doesn't leave a residue on your skin, which a lot of hand products do. The bottle is small enough to pop in your handbag, so it is easy to use on the go and a little bit goes a long way.
Sadly, there is a downside. After really loving the Rose and Frankincense fragrance, I was disappointed by the Sweet Pea and Verbena one as I found it to be too strong for a hand cream. I applied it before going on a bus and the smell actually made me feel sick. It is really overpowering and I don't enjoy it at all. If I had been sent the other fragrance, I would be perfectly happy, but as it is, I'm going to have to see if someone else gets on better with this scent.
MOA - Magic Organic Apothecary Fortifying Green Bath Potion
It's called a potion and I honestly think there's a bit of magic in it because I feel so good after getting out of the tub. In fact, I started to feel amazing before I even got in the bath, as the product released fantastically scented steam while the water was running that helped clear my mind and relax me.
The potion doesn't foam up - which is the only downside - but it makes the water feel wonderfully soft and smell incredibly. My muscles started to relax as soon as laid back in the bath and my skin started to tingle as the potion got my circulation going even more. I'd had a bit of an aching back all day, but within ten minutes this was gone and I'm not feeling any twinges now.
After getting out of the bath, my skin feels soft, smooth and moisturised and it is lightly scented, which is helping me continue to feel relaxed. I definitely think it is worth the £27.50 price tag and I will be buying it as soon as I can and I'm hoping I get more MOA products in future boxes.
I've already started using the products I received in my December Love Lula box, so hopefully my next review won't be so late!
