I've heard everything from wanting to quit smoking to losing weight. but after failing to keep up with big resolutions I've made previously, I'm doing things slightly differently this year. Rather than trying to make huge changes that aren't sustainable, I'm looking at what I can do to make me happier every day. Here are my resolutions for 2017:
All the gin
I don't go out drinking like I used to when I was younger, but I like the odd glass and to be able to offer a drink to guests when they come over so this seems like a great option to me. I've even signed up to Craft Gin Club to see what the monthly parcels are like.
This resolution seems perfectly achievable to me, as well as something that will make me smile. I may even get myself some fancy gin glasses.
Tasty food
However, I figured this would be a great way to enjoy cooking more and to try different techniques and appliances. It also seems like a good idea to get the husband out more, as he can never say no to a good meal. I'm already making a start on this and have arranged a meal out with some awesome people at a place I've been eyeing up for ages.
Weekends
I've got a list of places that I want to go and I'm going to try and tick at least a few of them off. Once I've passed my test, this will be a lot easier, but even before then, I'm going to walk more and put up with public transport so I can make the most of the days I'm not working.
Swim more
The whole fitness aspect of it is only a secondary, but it will also help me improve my health so that's another win.
Smile every day
Whether I do something big or small, it won't matter. Self care is so important and I think too many of us forget that, so whether I want tobake a cake, buy a new lipstick or read a few chapters of a book while sat in a coffee shop, I'm going to do it.
I encourage you to do this too, as it will probably make more a difference than paying for a gym membership you don't use past March.
Keep blogging
Thank you to all of you who have been reading my ramblings for the last year and for supporting me in this and other areas. You've no idea how much every page view means to me. I promise there will be plenty more blogs in the future, even if some of them are fairly random.
What resolutions are you going to be making this year?
