Today is my first Monday back at work, which means the holiday really is over. While I'm working from home so got a little bit of a lie in, I get the feeling that today and the rest of the week is going to be difficult to get through. With that in mind, here's a dose of motivation to get you ready for a new week:

The reason the blog has been pretty quiet this month is that I disappeared with the husband for a well-earned holiday in Menorca. A week in the sun was very much needed after a busy year and has totally set me up for the madness that is Christmas.
It got to the point that both me and the husband were getting desperate for a break so I decided to treat him to a holiday for our second wedding anniversary (I also got him a towel as it was our cotton anniversary). The reason I chose Menorca was purely for the price, I wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful so we could just relax beside the pool. Plus, the photos from around the resort looked super pretty and there seemed to be plenty of interesting places to go. While I could probably have saved a bit more cash booking flights and our apartment separately, I ended up booking a package through Thomson, as it just makes things easier. We booked our honeymoon through them too and all the reps were really helpful. So, I'm back from my holiday and am having to try and get back to real life after a week of soaking up the sun, drinking sangria and generally relaxing with the husband. One of the biggest things I'm having to get used to is the temperature, which is bloody freezing t'up here in Leeds.
I've had to start wrapping up in layers, which is a big difference from last week when I spent most of my time in sundresses and swimwear. In fact, I spent the majority of my holiday wearing a bikini, which is a huge thing for me. Yes, I know I've posted previously about the bikini I bought myself for my birthday and I made an effort to wear it when we were in the South West, but I ended up buying myself a new one for the holiday as my other one is already too big. This meant that I was showing a lot more skin than I have in public for years, which is a huge step for me.
The next week is going to be incredibly quiet as I am currently on a plane and looking forward to landing in Menorca with the husband. Rather than writing blogs, I'll be relaxing by the pool, eating a lot of paella and enjoying cocktails in the sun. I'm sure there will be plenty to write about when I get back but until then, keep up with what I'm doing (and prepare to be very jealous) by checking out my Instagram.
I'm always happy to find different vegan cosmetics, especially when they are handmade in the UK and are affordable. I was, therefore, over the moon when a friend of mine introduced me to a brand created by one of her friends - it's all about who you know.
Fairypants is based in Chester and all of their products are made by hand, which ensures great quality and means you know that a lot of care has gone into each product. They were nice enough to send me a couple of goodies to try out, which have now got me wishing payday was closer so I can buy a few more products. |
