Now that I've been using everything for a few weeks, I've got a better idea as to what they are like on my skin, and I have to say I am really impressed. Everything in this box was just as good as last months so I was really excited to get September's and give that a try too (which I am now doing).
I definitely recommend signing up for a monthly beauty box as it is such good value for money and is the perfect way to try gorgeous products without having to pay through the nose. Here's what I thought of August's haul:
Dr Hauschka Night Serum
It also smells absolutely amazing! While the site says it has apple fruit extracts, it actually smells a bit like honey, but not as sweet. This made it feel like a bit of a treat when I was putting it on and there was no hint of chemical undertones.
After using this serum, my skin felt clean, fresh and thoroughly moisturised. My pores were also toned and less prone to clogging.
I currently have a few bottles of facial oil to get through - also from LoveLula - but I'd be tempted to buy a full-size bottle of this serum once I need a new product for night.
Madara Time Miracle Cellular Repair Serum
While I don't think my skin is quite old enough to use this serum - I'm not convinced it's needed for a 28-year-old - I still gave it a good go, especially as rapid weight loss means my skin needs a bit of extra help at the moment. Even though it is a stronger serum than the one I've been using, it is still lovely and light so sinks in really well and didn't make my skin feel greasy.
It also didn't make my skin oily throughout the day and my makeup still stayed in place without any sliding throughout the day. A few serums I've used in the past have clogged my pores, but the Madara serum didn't do this, in fact, it actually helped to tone my pores more.
I also noticed that my skin looked brighter, felt plumper and the fine lines that have started appearing in certain areas looked much finer the longer I used it. This isn't something I'd buy now, but it is definitely on my list for the future.
Madara Time Miracle Trial Set
As with the serum, the creams were rich but not greasy, actually mattifying my skin and providing the perfect base for makeup. I used the night and day creams with and without the serum and still saw great results, although they were better with the serum.
My skin felt toned, clean and not at all weighed down. However, once again it was a case of them being a bit too strong for my current needs, but they could definitely be ideal when I finally reach my mid-30s.
Humble Natural Beauty Rose and Frankincense Body Wash
The scent of this shower gel is beautifully complex and fresh, staying on the skin with subtle floral notes for a while after you've used it. It is also really moisturising, so my skin feels clean and soft after using it. I've taken to using it with my exfoliating gloves, as it just makes me feel like I've had a really effective wash and is ideal for relaxing.
I will definitely be buying this again, for myself and other people, and I'm already eyeing up other products in the range.
Urban Veda Reviving Collection
Every products smells lovely and fresh, making them really lovely for helping you wake up in the mornings. I've been using the cleanser with my konjac sponge and it foams up really well, lifts dirt, tones the pores and generally leaves my skin feeling amazing. The polish is a really gentle exfoliant that is ideal for sensitive skin and that leaves your skin feeling smooth without having to scrub really hard.
The cherry on top is the day cream, which is light and lovely. It sinks in really well, doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky and ensures it stays soft all day. I'm actually sad that I didn't sign up for this box sooner as this little collection is the last one being featured in it. I guess I'm just going to have to test out more of their products.
