I seem to spend a fortune on body scrubs that offer amazing results but fail to deliver. This has meant I've ended up with a bathroom full of different products that each offer a certain result but not everything I want from a scrub. I was pleasantly surprised, therefore, when I got to try Mint Temptation from Scrub Love as it really delivered.
For starters, Scrub Love's products are made right here in the UK. They are organic, fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance-approved, which basically means their scrubs are little pouches of goodness in every single way possible. This is exactly what I want from my products, along with natural ingredients that are highly effective. All of this is why I jumped at the chance to give one of the scrubs a try
It smelt absolutely divine and I seriously sat sniffing the scrub for a good 20 minutes. In fact, it made me totally re-evaluate my aversion to peppermint lattes - honestly, it smells that good!
Once I had finished taking in the scent, I was able to easily reseal the pack to pop it aside until I could give it a try and a good test rather than a hurried scrub. The pouch has a resealable edge, which means you can store it in your bathroom without having to worry about it going soggy or travel with it - as I did - without lids undoing or plastic bottles bursting (I still popped it in a bag just to be safe).
Overall, the scrub is fairly course so a little bit really does go a long way. I tried it on one arm first so I could compare the results with my un-scrubbed skin. I hardly needed any to cover my forearm and hand, so it's easy to tell that one pouch will last for a while.
The combination of coffee and sea salt means you don't have to work really hard to get a good level of exfoliation - in fact, you should avoid scrubbing too hard. I just used gentle, circular motions and the scrub felt amazing on my skin straight away. Once I had spread it over my arm, I followed the instructions on the package and left it on for an extra few minutes to allow the oils to sink in a bit before rinsing off with warm water and patting my skin dry.
Not only did the scrub deep cleanse, smooth and soften my skin, the peppermint oil in the scrub also mean that it was left feeling tingly and cool, which was really welcome on a hot and humid day. I was so impressed with the overall results that I ended up using the scrub on the rest of my body - from top to toes - shortly afterwards. This left all my skin feeling really clean and fresh, as well as moisturised - basically ticking all of my boxes.
Sometimes when I use body scrubs it means I get spots the next day, but this didn't happen with Scrub Love and my skin felt just as soft, smoothed and cared for when I woke up the next day as it did straight after stepping out of the shower.
Overall, I'm incredibly impressed with Scrub Love and would love to give the rest of their products a try once I run out of Mint Temptation, which is sure to become a firm beauty favourite of mine. I definitely recommend it for those who want a great all-round exfoliating scrub.
