There's a lot going on this month, with one big thing in particular dominating most of June. However, a lot of different things are making me happy, so here are ten things making me smile already this month.

I get asked a lot about my skincare routine and what products I like to use. My history of working for Lush and Superdrug means I have tried a lot of different products with mixed results, which I am perfectly happy to tell people about.
Although I've tried a lot of products in the past, I have now got my favourite tried and tested products that I don't like to move away from. So here is my daily skincare routine and all the products I use from top to toe: One of the best things about living in Leeds compared to Cornwall is the food. While I'm a big fan of a pasty (at least cheese and onion ones) and the odd portion of freshly-caught fish and chips, it can be hard to find great places to eat if you don't want to spend a fortune.
One type of food that I really missed out on during my years down south is Asian food, which is easily one of my top choices. I don't mean your typical Chinese takeaway with too-sweet sweet and sour sauce and prawn crackers either. I mean flavourful, spicy and delicious Asian food from different countries and with varied characters. Over the last six months, I have become completely enamored with Asian cuisine, meaning it has become my go-to when I can't decide what I want to eat and my number one choice when going out with people. There are three places in particular that I really love and that I would sorely miss should we ever go back down to the south west. Here are my top Asian eateries from those I have tried so far: Spring is in the air - apparently - which means that we should be getting some nice weather soon enough, we can update our wardrobes and we will soon get to enjoy a riot of colour thanks to nature.
One thing that signals the start of spring to me is the scents that you'll experience throughout the day, with flowers and plants adding a fresher note to fragrances throughout the season. As well as natural scents you encounter on a day to day basis, spring also means you'll probably change some of the beauty and home products you use in order to make the most of the crisp smells that are associated with the season. I have a number of fragrances that I love at this time of year and start to use instead of the deep, spicy scents that I love for winter. Here are my top scents for spring this year: Even though we are planning on moving this year - we would have moved last year but we haven't found a house that ticks all the right boxes yet - I'm working hard to make our house as comfortable as possible.
I'm a big nester and like to inject my personality into a space, even if its just a hotel room I'm spending the night in. This helps me feel relaxed and happy, as well as resulting in a colourful environment that showcases some of mine and the husband's favourite things. One place I've bought some great stuff from - including a lot of pin-up girl bedding - is George at Asda. In fact, I regularly check online to see what new things they have in. This has resulted in a broad wishlist that I think will work great in our current house as well as when we move. Here are some things that are waiting in my basket: |
