There's a lot going on this month, with one big thing in particular dominating most of June. However, a lot of different things are making me happy, so here are ten things making me smile already this month.

I have a serious addiction to liquid lipsticks. I love how long lasting they are, the matte finish and the easy application, which means I'm always looking out for a new liquid lipsticks. This is how I came across Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks, which look amazing.
However, after being unimpressed with some other US brands that I've had imported, I was reluctant to buy any Jeffree Star products from the US site and instead waited for them to be stocked on a UK site. You can now get the range from Cocktail Cosmetics, although they sell out very quickly and you're often left waiting weeks for a restock. This is what happened to me when I wanted to buy my first Velour Liquid Lipstick, 'Scorpio'. The shade had only recently been released and so I had to wait a while for it to become available in the UK - I'm not ashamed to admit that I hit refresh every minute on restock day so I didn't miss out. It arrived the next day and I have worn it a few times since. As you read this, I am getting ready to go into theatre to have a gastric band fitted. I am both excited and scared but I know I have made the right decision.
People may question why I'm getting a procedure like this at my age, but if they had been through what I have with my weight and my body, they would probably resort to surgery too. A couple of people have even referred to this as "the easy way out", which is utterly ridiculous. There is nothing easy about surgery or the massive changes I am going to have to make to my lifestyle as a whole. However, if I cared about what people thought of me for making this decision, I'd be hiding it rather than writing this blog. |
