Following on from my review of the body wash, Seascape gave me the chance to try a few more of their products so I could experience more of their range. Needless to say, I jumped at the chance and have been giving three items from their Uplift range a try for a few weeks now and I'm just as impressed as I was with the Unwind Body wash.
This British brand creates bath and body products that are 100% natural essential oil-based, creating really beautiful fragrances that leave your skin smelling great but that also help your mood. Ingredients from the island of Jersey are used to make the products, which contain no parabens, silicones, artificial colours, petroleum synthetic fragrances or SLS. This means that the products are as natural as they can be, suitable for sensitive skin and incredibly effective - not to mention the fact that they are cruelty-free and suitable for vegetarians. What more could you want?
The scent
I found that on my skin, the scent wears really well, slowly fading throughout the day to the lavender undertones while initially helping me to feel awake and ready to face the day thanks to the lime and eucalyptus. This made the range ideal for the mornings, especially as mine are fairly early and involve walking 3.5 miles to work.
While I chose the scent, I let Seascape recommend some products - after all, they know their products the best - so I ended up trying the Uplift Body Lotion, Uplift Sea Salt Body Scrub and the Uplift Awake Oil. I can tell you now that I loved every single one of these products and would happily invest in them all again and not only because they smell amazing.
Uplift Awake Oil
I've used similar products before but I found that the scents didn't tend to last long and that the oils sat on my skin making it greasy. The Awake Oil is almost like a perfume in the way the fragrance lasts on your skin, giving you a great scent for hours. It results in that first strong hit of lime, which really gets rid of the morning cobwebs, and then the lavender follows but is still refreshing. It also sinks into your skin, leaving it soft rather than feeling heavy and oily, which I can really get on board with.
After using it for a week, I decided to try a few days without it to see what difference it made. After two days of not using it and seeming to need extra coffee but still struggling to wake up, I switched back to it and the difference was huge. It doesn't just wake your body up, it really does help to get your brain into gear, helping you feel energised but still relaxed.
Those who struggle to wake up in the mornings should definitely give this a try as it's better than espresso. I'm going to grab myself the Soothe Sleep Oil now too so I can hopefully drift off easier.
Uplift Sea Salt Body Scrub
The scrub contains the same stunning fragrance along with fine sea salt for gentle but effective exfoliation that doesn't irritate skin but does leave it feeling amazingly smooth. It's made ingredient is glycerin - this is a natural product - which is supremely moisturising and the result is your skin feels like it has been moisturised after using the scrub, even hours later. In fact, I stopped moisturising after using the scrub after the first few times as my skin just needed need extra moisture.
While the texture of the scrub is slightly runnier than I usually like - I tend to prefer really thick scrubs - a tiny amount still managed to go a really long way, even when I was being good and exfoliating everywhere. This means I still have loads of the tub left, even after using it at least once a week for the past few weeks.
The scrub is also so effective, I haven't felt the need to exfoliate a lot since using this product as my skin doesn't feel like the pores get as blocked as when I use some other scrubs. I've had fewer breakouts, my skin has improved in texture and it looks a lot brighter and healthier - I've even managed to develop a slight natural tan.
On top of all of this, my skin always smells amazing after using the scrub, with the scent staying on my skin for ages, which is always a big plus.
Uplift Body Lotion
Beyond smelling gorgeous, the body lotion is wonderfully rich but still feels light on your skin. It contains Jersey beeswax, which helps to lock moisture into your skin, and she butter, which moisturises it really deeply and leaves it feeling incredibly smooth and soft. As soon as you apply the lotion, it starts sinking into your skin, meaning you hardly need to rub it in and it doesn't leave you feeling sticky or like your skin is weighed down.
Because it is so quick to apply, it''s really easy to use in the morning, even if you're in a rush, meaning you benefit from the lovely refreshing scent to help you wake up. The fragrance lasts all day and I've been able to wear perfume on top of the lotion without it making it smell weird, which is a big plus for me as I love a spritz.
You can use it after the body scrub to layer up the scent to make it last longer, not to mention with the oil, but because they are both so moisturising, unless you have really dry skin, it isn't really necessary. However, it is ideal for applying when you get out of the shower and I'm sure it would go perfectly with the Awake Body Wash, which I now really want to get my hands on.
All in all, I'm really excited by this natural beauty brand and I've been hugely impressed with the products I've tried. So much so, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that another one ends up in my Love Lula box soon so I can try even more of Seascape's unique fragrance blends.
* Although the products were given to me by Seascape, all views are my own and all research into the products and their ingredients has been done by myself.
