I found the tearoom a couple of years ago when getting my hair cut but just haven't got around to going in for a drink or food. Every time I've meant to go, something has come up and it hasn't happened, but last weekend (Saturday, September 9th), I arranged to meet some awesome fierce babes there for a catch up and I'm really glad I did.
Our table was outside the cafe, which is still inside the Grand Arcade. I'm actually glad we got to sit outside rather than inside as it was a lot quieter, making it ideal for a good natter. Inside is fairly small so it was pretty loud, especially considering every table had people at it - including one that was all set up for someone's 80th birthday, which was super cute.
As well as a huge range of drinks to choose from, there was also a list as long as my arm of homemade cakes, so it would have been rude not to try one. I went for the chocolate fudge cake, which was so good! Super chocolatey and proper buttercream are always winners in my book, so these on top of it being served on a vintage gold-embellished plate with an antique silver dessert fork made it totally perfect.
If you're ever in or near the Grand Arcade, I'd definitely recommend popping into Just Grand!. In fact, I'd recommend going in whether you're close by or not as it is somewhere totally different to the rest of the cafes and coffeeshops in Leeds.
