Cielo Blanco is in the Trinity Centre and has been one of favourites for a while. However, I hadn't been to the restaurant since becoming a pescetarian. I remembered that they had veggie and fishy food on the menu that was reliant mushrooms so I figured there would be plenty of options for me to choose from.
However, I did manage to find a couple of the street food options to try. Previously we've gone for the sharing option, which means you can order 6 street food to share between 2 people, adding another 3 for each person sharing. I only fancied 2 dishes so I went for salmon quesadillas and beer battered fish tacos, as well as a kiwi and strawberry and kiwi margarita.
Sadly the beer battered tacos weren't on the same level. The pieces of fish were really tiny, with one piece being half the size of the others. I've had this dish before and really liked it, but this time around, the fish was a bit watery and cold. It didn't have a lot of flavour other than the lime crema so I was left disappointed.
All in all, it was a mixed bag but I still left full. I'm hoping they bring back some of the previous veggie options that were on the menu so I can enjoy something without having to pick out mushrooms. However, if you aren't as fussy as me, you should definitely try out Cielo Blanco for some excellent Mexican food.
