Once again, I got a lovely selection of skincare treats. While it would have been nice to get more makeup, the beauty products they fill the boxes with are always so great that I'm not all that fussed. This time around, I got a great selection of full-sized, sample-sized and small extras that gave me plenty to try out.
Balm Balm Rose Floral Water Hydrosol
Rather than using it in the morning - which is when my Glow Tonic really makes a difference - I started using it at night after cleansing and before moisturising with oil. You only need a couple of sprays to cover your face, which releases the really beautiful rose fragrance and makes your skin feel really fresh and clean.
After lightly rubbing the hydrosol into my skin, it was amazing how much softer it felt straight away. While the oil I use always really moisturised my skin, there was a difference to my complexion each morning after using this product. My skin was softer and my pores were a lot more toned.
I also used it as a spray refresher on some days when the weather was hot, just using a spray or two - which I did when I was wearing makeup - to help my skin feel fresher, which also left it much softer. This is definitely a product that I'll consider purchasing in full size.
FOM London Hydra Plump Serum
All of the serums I've used have been light creams, so I was a bit surprised to see that this one was a water-light liquid. However, this is actually a good thing, as some serums are fairly heavy so when they are used under a day cream, my skin can feel a bit clogged up and my makeup does that awful sliding off my face thing.
The light formula of the FOM serum means it sinks into your skin really easily, leaves it feeling fresh and bright and doesn't weigh it down after putting a cream on too. It smells pretty great, with slightly floral notes that aren't too strong, and a little bit goes a really long way.
I've found that since using it, my skin feels really moisturised and my makeup lasts a lot longer. I've tried a couple of ways of applying it - including trying to put small drops directly onto certain areas of my face - but found that the best way is to put a couple of drops on my fingers and quickly massage it into my face. Unlike cream serums, it doesn't need to sit for as long on your skin before you put your moisturiser on, which saves a few minutes in the morning too.
I've still got most of my bottle left - it really does last for ages - so I'll hold off on buying it in a full size bottle until I've seen more results.
Ooh! Oils of Heaven Organic Baobab Rejuvenating Face Oil
Just as with the other two oils I've tried and use on a regular basis, this one was beautifully rich but sinks into my skin really well so I'm not left with a greasy layer over my face when I go to bed. You can feel it moisturising the moment it goes on - just don't use it around your eye area as the skin there deals with oil differently - and this one is a bit thicker than the moringa and argan oils so you need less.
I've been using it as a night moisturiser since my box arrived and it really has made a difference to my skin. At the start of autumn, my skin always ends up looking tired, starts to dry out and develops an uneven texture. This has helped to counter all of this and has meant my complexion has started to behave a lot more sooner than it has it previous years.
If you haven't given Ooh! Oils of Heaven a try yet, I suggest you do.
Madara Active AHA Brightening Peel Mask
While it didn't make my skin feel quite as deeply cleansed as my go-to face masks, it did leave it feeling a lot brighter and more toned. It also didn't make my skin feel as dry as other peel-off masks have in the past, instead leaving it smooth and fairly even in terms of oil production. A couple of days later, though, I felt like I needed to use another face mask to really cleanse my skin. Usually I only use one once a week so this wasn't great.
If you like peel-off masks, I'd say give this one a go, but if - like me - you prefer something that seems like it's doing a bit more, I'd probably skip it.
Madara Micellar Water
In the interest of giving you a full review, I bit the bullet at tried this one, which left me wishing they'd sent a mini bottle rather than a small sachet that I only got two uses out of.
This one didn't sting my skin at all or leave ot feeling sore and tight. Instead, my face felt completely clean, smooth, soothed and refreshed. It removed all traces of makeup in minutes, including my tough waterproof mascara and eyeliner. In fact, my skin actually felt moisturised after using it, rather than stripped of all oils like other cleansers do.
I'm actually really tempted to buy a bottle of this product to see how I get on for a longer period of time, especially as I think it would be great to take on my holiday next month.
Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Organic Facial Moisturiser
Again, I only got a couple of uses out of it so couldn't really see much of a difference, but I can see it being a good choice for using in the summer months, especially as it contains SPF 30 to protect your skin. It may be a bit light for the winter though, especially as the cold weather leaves my skin dry.
My next LoveLula box will be in the post soon, but I'll be on holiday when it arrives so the review will probably be a bit delayed (again). I'm definitely sticking with this beauty subscription box though.
