Cafe Moor is one of my favourite places for street food in Leeds, especially as they have vegetarian and pescetarian options that are absolutely delicious. I've been meaning to take the husband for ages, but haven't got around to it so a Saturday off seemed like the perfect excuse to indulge.
There's no chairs but it really doesn't matter as the food is so amazing you don't mind standing. Plus, they serve everything up on wooden boards and make the meals look absolutely amazing - they also gave us free mint tea, which is one of my favourite things and took me back to late nights by the beach in Tunisia on our honeymoon.
The husband also opted for bourek as he's never had one, plus they do meat ones so he could indulge in lamb for once. I don't think I've ever seen him clear a plate so fast and I'm sure that if we weren't heading off to do more things he would have ordered a second one. He even ate the salad, which is a rare thing, and all of the harissa.
After our food, they poured us some mint tea on the house - we offered to pay but they wouldn't let us. The tea is beautifully sweet and fresh, serving as the perfect finish to a meal. I'd say it's worth just popping by for some tea to takeaway as it is that good.
If you're ever near Kirkgate Market and feel a bit peckish, Cafe Moor is definitely the place you need to go.
