I haven't done one of my '10 things' posts since May last year, so I figured it was time to add a bit of positivity to the mix and also give a shout out to things and people who have made me happy recently. It has been hard to choose just 10, as really, I should do a blog around things that have been making me smile so far this year - of which there are a lot. However, I've done my best and will *try* and make sure this blog becomes a regular thing again, if for no other reason than the fact it tends to cheer me up on bad days. Anyway, here are 10 things that I'm really loving right now (even if technically some of them aren't from this month):

The last few weeks have been pretty busy, but not so mad that I haven't been enjoying myself. In fact, the reason I haven't written any blogs in a little while is because I've been doing so many enjoyable things and have been making the most of seeing people and going places.
With so much awesome stuff going on, I knew I couldn't skip out on a 10 things post, especially as it's going to take me a while to get everything written up. So until I do get some more reviews and musings online, here are a few things that I've really enjoyed this May: I have this thing for quotes. If it has a quote I like on it, I'm getting it. As a result, my house is full of lovely little touches that feature some of my favourite words. I even used quotes instead of table numbers at my wedding, which are also now hanging in my house. When you love books and movies as much as I do, it stands to reason that a good quote is going to be the perfect finishing touch to any decor.
This is why I was super excited when Old English Company contacted me to see if I'd like to try some of their products. One look at their site and I knew I was going to struggle to just pick a few things and not end up filling my basket with extra lovely stuff. There was so much to choose from, with stationery, prints, homeware and even gift wrap on offer, all featuring fun designs and brilliant quotes. Even better, the products are hand-lettered in England, using simple and elegant designs that are really striking. This meant that even the smallest product on their site has something special about it. With so much to choose from, it ended up taking me a few hours, plus several discussions with friends and the husband, to pick out a few things. I ended up choosing a mug, a print and an enamel pin, along with a T-shirt from Old English Company's sister company, Letter Clothing Company - which you can read all about in a blog soon. I also chose three quotes, two about female empowerment - because who doesn't need more of that - and one of my favourite Emily Bronte quotes. Considering the fact that January felt like it was about three years long, February has gone surprisingly quickly, but this doesn't mean it has been any less busy. I've managed to cram a fair bit into the last month and organise plenty for March, so the first quarter of this year looks set to be fairly exciting.
While I haven't written as many blogs as I would like to over the passed few weeks (I should really say I haven't published many as there are a fair few in my drafts folder just waiting for me to take photos), I've done plenty of other things that have made me happy. In a tradition that has been going on for quite a while now, here are ten things I've loved about the past month. While the world may not have had a particularly great 2017, last year was for me personally pretty good. A lot happened and I was sometimes too busy to fit everything in, but I went to new places, met some fantastic people and had a lot of great times.
Too much happened in 2017 to list it all, but here are 10 things that made me smile in the last 12 months and that I am really grateful for. |
