I ended up finding a pair in a charity shop a couple of years later but sold them on when I needed the cash and have since just stuck to admiring other people's shoes and pinning styles I love. Even after I had the funds to spare on shoes, I didn't buy any, preferring Dr Marten boots instead as heels don't agree with me and I have massive feet - wide size 8s.
My husband ignited my obsession for Irregular Choice properly last year when he bought me a pair of medium height heels from a supplier that has become my go-to - Eclectic Shoes on eBay.
I'm a lover of bright colours and contrasting patterns, which are two things IC do incredibly well - as shown by the style of both pairs of my low Trinkletinas about. I had also always loved the unusual heels but knew I couldn't walk in them, which is why I am so glad the brand has started releasing more medium heeled styles.
Even though they often feature unusual designs, the style of ICs are quite classic, meaning they work great with my vintage style. They showcase a lot of florals, which I love and which go so well with tea-length dresses in soft colours. I'll never understand why people ask if their ICs go with their outfits, as they seem to go with absolutely everything.
The only pair that needed a touch of stretching are the above Red Glitter Ban Joes, which came up a bit small. However, a pair of thick socks and a hairdryer soon had them fitting properly - this trick will work on most styles of their shoes. I tend to use heat on most of my pairs now, as it helps them fit your feet even better so they are more comfortable.
I think my husband is going to regret buying me my first new pair of these shoes, as in a year, my collection has become six pairs and two bags. While they are expensive, I wear my shoes to death and take care of them, so I know I have several years of wear out of each pair. I look forward to seeing what new styles they bring out and what I can add to my collection. Look out for reviews of my latest two pairs.
