With so much awesome stuff going on, I knew I couldn't skip out on a 10 things post, especially as it's going to take me a while to get everything written up. So until I do get some more reviews and musings online, here are a few things that I've really enjoyed this May:
- Another thing I've wanted to do since we moved to Leeds was go to the 1940s weekend in Haworth. Unfortunately, with the husband previously working weekends, we never got around to it. I was also really nervous about getting all dressed up when I was bigger because I wasn't very confident. However, this year we went, I got all dressed up, I had my photo taken by a lot of people and we both had an incredible time. We're now looking for more vintage days to attend.
- Not only did the in-laws take us to a show, they also bought up loads of clotted cream straight from Cornwall. We can never get hold of big tubs so this was incredible and we now have a stash in the freezer. However, we're totally open to people bringing us more clotted cream in the future. Just saying.
- Date nights have become a lot more common since the husband started his new job and I love it. This month, we've seen a few films, gone out for meals and have generally made an effort to spend time doing stuff together outside of the house. That being said, we've also had great lazy Sundays in our PJs with Netflix.
- I went to my last Opera North show of the season, which made me a bit sad as I have a while to wait for the next one, but it was brilliant! I saw Kiss Me Kate from the middle of the front row and I loved every minute of it. If you get a chance to watch it while it's touring, don't miss out.
- As well as chilling with the husband and in-laws, I've also spent time with some lovely people - as well as some cute pups. I spent a great day in lovely company celebrating a friend's birthday, enjoying cherry bear and eating great food, all while it was sunny. I am now very much looking forward to celebrating my birthday with more awesome people.
- A trip to York always makes me happy, but going when it is super sunny and I don't have to drive is even better. We spent the day exploring the Shambles and eating more fish and chips with the in-laws and I loved it. We even found a great Cornish pasty shop and the husband didn't moan when I went in the Harry Potter stores.
- I've been reminded just how lucky I am to have met some of the best people since moving to Leeds. One person in particular has helped me out so much this month and I'm ridiculously grateful. Not only has she given me some mermaid shoes, she's also done more to get ready for my 30th birthday than I have. I am only almost sorted for it because of all of her amazing help.
- After weeks of waiting, I finally got to go to Jurassic Kingdom in Sheffield and spent the day surrounded by anamatronic dinosaurs! I absolutely love dinosaurs and am fascinated by them so I basically spent the day with a massive grin on my face and running around like a kid. I would definitely go again and can't wait to write it all up.
- I have been looking for this dress for almost a year after the one I had previously became way too big. Not only did I finally find it, but I now fit in one that is 5 sizes smaller, which means a lot more to me than numbers on a scale, so I'm really happy and proud of myself. I've still got some way to go, but all progress is good.
June looks set to be pretty busy too, not least because I turn 30, but it's all more to write about (when I get spare time!).
