- The cutest letter came in the post this month. My gorgeous goddaughter, who I saw at Christmas for the first time in too long, along with my husband's godson, wrote to me using the letter set we bought her and I can't believe how grown up she is. I'm looking forward to being her penpal and need to get my response in the post.
- Making time for myself has meant taking my baths to the next level. I finally bought myself a bath pillow and caddy so my baths are even more comfortable and I can spend longer in them. Too often I would end up not running a bath as other things got in the way, but I'm changing that this year. This also means I'm getting to read more books.
- The husband has set up a home cinema in the games room (I won't pretend that I wasn't mad at first) and it includes a projector that means we can watch 3D movies. I have absolutely loved chilling out with him and watching David Attenborough in 3D. I even bought him/me Jurassic Park in 3D and it was brilliant.
- I've been sticking to my resolution to try more gin and have made the most of my Craft Gin subscription and have bought myself a couple of other bottles. I've now got a nice gin selection and am still building on it. This is something I can do for me and I've enjoyed looking at different types of gin to create a 'to-try' list.
- As well as buying gin, I bought myself some books that I've had on my wishlist for ages and am steadily making my way through them. I've really enjoyed reviewing the books I've read so I'm going to keep doing this (my next review will be up soon).
- This month has been all about opera. I bought myself tickets using Opera North's Under 30 scheme to three different performances and managed to get some great seats. I've not been on my own before and the fear of going alone meant i missed out on some great operas last year. I'm changing this now and I've actually loved going on my own. I've got one more show this month and another in a couple more months.
- I'm always entering social media competitions because I figure it can't hurt. I used to win a lot of different things, ranging from dresses to meals out, but over the last few months, I haven't been that lucky. This changed at the start of the month as I won some of my favourite Matcha tea. It may not seem like a lot but it put a smile on my face and has helped me feel more awake in the mornings.
- February means Valentine's Day and I got to spend the evening with my husband. Usually I cook dinner, but this year he took me out for an amazing meal and bought me a massage. In fact, we've made an effort to have a few little dates this month and he even came to the gym with me on his weekend off, which was really nice. I'm making him do more things too.
- Last but not least, tomorrow (February 18th) marks exactly a year since my first proper Lost in the North blog went live. I've loved writing this blog and feel really proud of myself for sticking with it. To celebrate, I bought myself my fist batch of Lost in the North business cards so I can actually network properly.
