- This month, I managed to fit in a size 14 dress for the first time in I couldn't tell you how long. After selling most of my too-big clothes, I was getting desperate for summer dresses ahead of my holiday next month so treated myself to one, being hopeful that it would fit in September. It turns out I had shrunk more than I thought and it has put me in a good mood after bad news earlier in the month.
- Me and the husband celebrated being a couple for eight years this month, which is pretty impressive. We don't properly celebrate our first date anniversary but like to acknowledge it as we went through a lot before we got married. I have to say that eigh years with my best friend have been pretty great.
- This month was also the wedding of my friend Katy, which I have been excited about for two years now. It was an absolutely beautiful day that had me in tears so much and I am so so happy for the newly-married couple. I'm sad that I won't be in the office when she gets back from her mini-moon, but it is a great excuse for a catch up meal.
- I've started being able to wear some of my favourite rings again, many of which are incredibly special to me. A couple of them were stuck on my fingers for years and I struggled to get them off when I lost weight. I've kept them off to give my fingers time to recover (you could still see the marks for months) and now I can put them on and take them off as I please. This meant I can now wear the diamond ring my Grandad Frank and Grandma Ellen gave me for my 18th birthday every day again.
- Despite being mad busy, I've made sure I've had a chance to catch up with friends, including a movie night and drinks on the roof terrace of my new office (soon to be my old office at the end of the week). No longer working with friends I've known for years and not being based in the city centre means that I'm going to make more effort to arrange regular catch ups from now on, as I think I've managed to achieve a good balance between work and social events.
- I have finally finished our wedding album! It has genuinely taken forever but it is done and it was so nice to flick through it! Now I just need to sort out our honeymoon and holiday albums, as well as get more photos printed of the Tipton Adventures (Mrs Tipton is my alter ego).
- My poor pink Priscilla was making genuinely awful noises last month and the emissions light on the dash was lit up so I needed to get her fixed. Despite getting quotes from some really rude garages and others who wanted to charge me well over what the job actually cost (funny enough, when I contacted them using a guy's name, these quotes dropped a fair bit), I managed to find a garage that fixed her up for an affordable cost and now she is running perfectly, so I feel pretty proud of myself. She also helped us get a new washing machine and sofa bed home as she is a badass. I know it's silly to have car repairs as something that made me smile this month, but I sorted it all out on my own, which was great for my confidence.
- Me time has become a regular thing and I seem to have got back to a place where my anxiety isn't hounding me if I'm not doing something. I've struggled to write blogs and relax over the past few months because my brain wouldn't shut off and kept making me feel like I should be doing other things, which left me shattered. However, this month, I made myself read more and just enjoy being on my own and it has made a huge difference.
- I'm going back to the South-West for two weeks next month! We usually go on holiday in August but a combination of the wedding we went to and my parents being on holiday meant that it was hard to arrange dates. At least we are going back and will get to see everyone. On top off this, we get to celebrate our third wedding anniversary in Cornwall, which will be really lovely.
