- I have been collecting new tattoos this year and have now got some cute mini dinosaurs and my Smaug the Terrible tattoo that I have wanted for years! My mum isn't a big fan of the latter (probably because of where it is) but I adore it. I'm already planning the next one but I can't decide between my plus-sized mermaid or the doors of Moria.
- This week we had a bit of a celebration as I have been at my new job for six months and have officially passed probation. I honestly feel super happy in this job and with the company, as well as challenged by the role, so I'm planning on staying put for a while, especially as it has kept me in both gin and Prosecco for the last six months!
- Days out with The Husband are always going to end up on this list. Having weekends with him has been so great, especially as he is much happier with what he is doing now. We have more outings planned now that spring has sprung, although sometimes getting him out of the house is a bit of a struggle.
- As well as exploring with The Husband, I've had a lot more days out with friends. Whether it's going for a coffee or visiting somewhere we've all wanted to see, I've really enjoyed seeing more of some amazing people. I don't even mind playing taxi, as it means we can go further afield and spend more of the day together.
- I finally made it to Whitby and I loved it! Being by the sea always makes me super happy (although it was a bit cold for a swim just yet) but Whitby is especially beautiful. The drive is a bit much but totally worth it as I got to explore all of the great shops and indulge in fish and chips, which will always make a day 100 times better in my opinion.
- One big thing that has made a difference this month is the sunshine. Seasonal Affective Disorder really gets to me and can make winter incredibly hard, The lighter mornings and evenings, as well as better weather, have made me much happier, especially as I'm able to get up earlier and make the most of an early start and finish at work (thank you flexi time!).
- I have always wanted all of Bowie's albums on vinyl and I have now started my collection, thanks to The Husband getting me a record player for Christmas. I started out with The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and have now built up a great collection. Needless to say, it has become a bit of an obsession.
- I got a new car! Priscilla was getting on a bit and we needed a bit more space for journeys so we parted ways and I went and bought Marilyn with my first bonus from the new job. She is a whole lot bigger than my old teeny Corsa (as well as faster and newer) and I love her. The more powerful engine and more reliable drive has made trips with people so much easier, as has the actually functional electric key.
- Finally, a small but fairly important thing for me, I have kicked my coffee habit and don't miss it. I genuinely forgot how great matcha is and what a big difference it can make. A matcha latte every morning (I use Pure Chimp because it is affordable, ceremonial grade and 5% of profits go to charity) makes me feel much more awake throughout the day. Plus it tastes great and speeds up your metabolism, so all good things really.
